A Shared Experience during the Welcome Week program provides new students (both freshmen and transfer students) with opportunities to:
Interact and establish relationships with faculty members and peers,
Engage in discussion about a selected topic and
Gain a better understanding of the classroom environment and faculty expectations.
What To Do to Participate
Read the book/complete the assignment assigned by your department/school. See below for participating colleges/departments/schools and specific information. Books are available at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore located on the second floor of the Bone Student Center. Books may also be available at other bookstores, online or at your local library.
Attend your Academic Department/School Meeting on Friday, August 17 at 2 p.m. Attendance at meetings is REQUIRED.
Students in the following departments will participate in the following ways:
Communication Sciences & Disorders students are to read The Mindful Twenty-Something: Life Skills to Handle Stress…& Everything Else by Holly Rogers.
