Welcome Week is held prior to the start of classes each fall and complements the Preview or Transfer Days experience most students have experienced in the spring and summer. Welcome Week is designed to connect new students to the campus and other students, assist them in learning the culture and values of Illinois State, and gain some on-site knowledge of the campus and its resources. It is also about having fun!
There are two Friday sessions required for all new students - What It Means To Be a Redbird at 10 a.m. will highlight university values and expectations and the department/school meetings at 2 p.m. will highlight important academic information. All other activities during Welcome Week are optional, but you will miss out on free food and fun!
All new students will be assessed a nonrefundable charge, not to exceed $35, to cover the costs associated with the program. This charge will appear on the student's first tuition and fees bill, and includes all activities during the program and an academic planner.
First-year student move-in is based upon your floor assignment, which will be posted on the Housing website and will be mailed to you in late summer. Although hectic, move-in is a well organized process. Please refer to the Move-In tab and Directions & Parking tab for complete information.
